129 York St
Right in the heart of Byward Market, Fire & Flower fits right in with the outdoor farmers’ market stalls and specialty food shops selling Canadian cheese and maple-infused chocolate (we of course, sell our own kind of infused chocolates). Our pretty little house-converted-cannabis shop sits right next to the Jewel 98.5 headquarters. If you’re visiting, make sure to grab some warm pho from Pho By Night just down the street or head to Frou Frou to cop a new fit. Whatever reason you’re visiting our small block — we know you’ll have a great time. Established in 2018, Fire and Flower is your simple cannabis shop for goods and services. Whether you’re here to try something new or already know what you like — we’re here to guide you.

F&F's York St. location is staffed with friendly, approachable and knowledgeable people who are helpful without being pushy or pretentious - I was just set up with a full concentrate rig kit on recommendation and am super pleased. Member deals and rotating specials are worth it. The store is clean, spacious and dog friendly! My experiences here are always positive.
Extremely impressed with the customer service I've received at this Dispensary. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff! Also any issues I've experienced have been handled amazingly by the management team.
I'm always treated with respect when I walk into the Ottawa location. From the security guard at the door to the staff inside, they all go out of their way to treat you as a valued customer. Not that a smile and courtesy cost anything, but they're in short supply these days. ...I always leave with a smile on my face, happy that I "voted" with my dollars. Conversely, and only speaking from personal experience the Gatineau SDCQ store vibe is for the most part entitled staff who act as highly skilled Apothecary. I'd much prefer to drive an extra 5 minutes over to Ottawa than deal with SDCQ nonsense....strikes, higher prices, attitude etc...
Honestly this store is amazing! All of their employees are friendly and kind to their customers. It's the only store I go to in Ottawa. The staff are very good at offering suggestions on what kind of product you would like. With so many options on the market, their knowledge and recommendations are amazing. It avoids me spending hours researching something I may not like. Also their store is very clean and has a nice design.

Laws vary by province and municipality. Here’s a handy guide to help you understand cannabis consumption laws by region, but be sure to check your city or town’s government website for specific bylaws.
Under federal law, you’ll be allowed to cultivate up to 4 plants in your own residence, equaling 4 plants total per household. Some provinces may restrict whether or how you may grow at home. If you rent or live in a condo, you may also be subject to restrictions imposed by your landlord or condo by-laws.
You are allowed to possess up to 30 grams of dried legal cannabis or equivalent in public.

After purchasing legal cannabis products, you can consume them by:
Molecular yet mighty, cannabinoids are chemical compounds that stimulate the CB1 receptor in the brain, resulting in a spectrum of benefits and effects. Here, we’ll focus on the most common: THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol).
Choosing a strain that’s THC-dominant will give you the intoxicating “high” that’s commonly paraded in pop culture. The psychoactive effect is balanced and damped by the level of CBD in the strain.
Choosing a strain that’s CBD-dominant will give you a grounded “body” experience. This cannabinoid is non-psychoactive, making it desirable to those with THC sensitivities.
Choosing a strain with a balance of THC and CBD will harmonize the overall effects of each cannabinoid. CBD cushions the CB1 adaptor in the brain, softening the psychoactive effects of THC.
Species: C. indica, C. sativa, C. ruderalis
Contrary to popular belief, the species of cannabis you consume doesn’t indicate the varying effects you can expect to experience.
That’s right, indica doesn’t chill you out, nor does sativa energize you. Regardless of species, it’s a strain’s unique mix of cannabinoids and terpenes that gets you in the groove. In fact, most modern-day strains of cannabis are crossbreeds (a mix of species), with very few linking back to their pure lineage.
Taxonomy terms such as indica or sativa are best used to categorize the varying climates, appearances, origins and growth patterns of each variety. The combination of cannabinoids and terpenes present, regardless of species, is the best predictor of consumption effects.
We try to ensure our prices are competitive in all of the markets in which we operate however, if you find a lower every day or advertised sale price on an identical item currently in-stock and offered by any local, legal retail competitor’s brick-and-mortar store, you can bring us the flyer, advertisement, web page or email and we’ll match it. It’s as easy as that!
